Rhodes' Warriors to Open '07 Powerlifting Season
Saint Stanislaus College will host the opening meet of the 2007 Mississippi Powerlifting on Saturday, January 13, in the Blaize Gymnasium of the SSC Fitness Center. The Rocks have started preparing in earnest for their second season under the direction of Coach Chad Rhodes. The son of Gulf Coast weightlifting legend "Doc" Rhodes, Chad led his young team to 4A Regional and South State Championships and a third place finish in State last year.

Leading the team in his third year of competitive powerlifting is Caleb McQueen. Last year, as a junior, Caleb placed first in the 275 pound weight class with a state 4A record of 365 pounds in the bench press and a total lift record of 1625 pounds.

Defending state champion powerlifter Caleb McQueen gives some pointers to sophomore Clint Nicholson during an after school session in the Fitness Center's strength training facility.
